PRODUCT OVERVIEW

In times of climate change and drastic rise of costs for fuel, your customers will sooner or later demand estimations about the CO2 emission of your transport services.

Our analytics module can estimate upfront your CO2 emission equivalents per truck, per day, per customer, or even per parcel, transported from one point to another.

To estimate the CO2 emission equivalents as close as possible to the reality, our tool first estimates the fuel consumption. That calculation is based on the parameters you know, or which can be retrieved from your transport management system via API.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Minimal required input: the distance, your truck's type and its weight.
  • Distance in kilometers. Customer specific integration with your route services can be achieved on demand.
  • To signal us which type of truck will be on the road you can select from small (<7.5 tons) up to x-large (40 tons)
  • Last but not least, the load of transported goods is added to the truck size to increase the accuracy for estimating the CO2 emission equivalents
  • The results will disclose the CO2 emission equivalents per parcel and per leg.

Route or distance

The calculator works with distances in kilometers. Dynamic input directly from your route services can be integrated on demand.

Truck type and load

In addition to the truck's weight, the weight of the transport goods can be recorded manually or retrieved from an integrated transport management system.

Full loads are considered, upon request partial loads are covered as well.

Empty trips

Each calculation can estimate the empty trips. In case the truck is fully loaded on each trip this will of course be considered as well. Find out the difference by just triggering the calculation twice.

Fuel type

Currently we assume the truck consumes normal Diesel.

Upon request we could cover also other fuel types, e.g. Diesel (German mixed 7% bio Diesel), Gasoline

In case your transport management system is integrated with our calculator, we get exact data on all load and un-load activities. Thus the calculation can happen automatically per parcel.

For parameters which you cannot deliver an exact value, our calculator will use default values from recommended guidelines for the German industry - Guide on Calculating GHG emissons for freight forwarding and logistics services. It implements the minimal requirements which are set as a standard already in EN 16258.

Please note that the module is available at a level "Proof of Concept- PoC". We will update the service description as soon as the service changes its maturity level.
